What are The Advantages of A Textile Facade?

A textile facade is not only impressively large and great for advertising purposes, but also fulfils other important properties. In this article, we have a look at what exactly textile facades are.

What is meant by textile facade?

A textile facade is, quite simply put, a facade for a building that is made of a textile. This facade is installed in front of the actual house facade and offers many advantages.

Most buildings are built to last for decades or centuries. Over the years, the house facade in particular is exposed to a variety of influences. Storms, sun, rain, hail, snow – all of these stress the facade. Over time, it is attacked and no longer looks like new.

This is where the textile facade enters the picture

Textile facades are hung in front of a building and offer protection to the actual facade. This increases the durability of the building fabric and an old building can quickly shine in new glory.

What does a textile facade look like?

The best thing first: if you opt for a textile facade, you can decide how you want it to look. Thanks to digital printing, there are endless possibilities and the design can also be adapted to your building.

One example of this is the company Multi-Möbel in Markersdorf near Görlitz. A textile facade was installed here a few years ago. One of the challenges was the fire doors and emergency exits of the actual building, which must not be covered by the facade. You can watch the (updated 2024) project in this video.

A project with professionals at your side

Textile facades are large-scale projects. They require a lot of planning and experience. Which material is best for my facade? What do I need to consider for the substructure? Who will install my facade, and how will the huge banner be assembled?
