How to Create An Organized Structure for My Work Routine?

Structure is a diverse topic. Some people are naturally well-structured, others are having troubles. In this article, we want to share with you tips and tricks that helped our work routine structure at TEXSIB.

Creativity Needs Structure

Especially young people, who dive from school or university directly into work life, are missing structures that would support them. Many people in working in creative jobs face problems with their own structure.

It might sound like a paradox, but creativity needs structure to unfold.

To Do Liste

Our First Tip: Focus on Your Goals

What are your goals, and when are you planning to achieve them? What actions do you have to take to implement them on time? In terms of annual targets, we are suggesting a plan by quarters, months and calendar weeks. If you are aware of your tasks in the present week, it is easier for you, to organize your To-dos over the individual days.

Our Second Tip: Build Yourself A Scaffolding

What are your tasks that repeat? At first, write every regular tasks into your calendar. Additionally, set, for example, an E-Mail reminder to keep track of your schedule. Remember that everything written down in your calendar can be deleted from your head, and the free space can therefore be used for new ideas.

Our Third Tip: Use Tools That Support You

Not every application and program works for everybody. We recommend, though, to search for a tool that all team members can use while working on projects together. That simplifies communication and gives an overview on the status of the project for everyone involved.

For our regular tasks, we are using calendar reminders. For new tasks, we are using To Do Ist. This application benefits from checklists for all sorts of sections that you can delete, comment on, assign to other team members, and much more.

Last But Not Least: Create Routines

Creating routines for your day is not only a game changer in private. It will help you in your job exceptionally. Though, they should be well planned to achieve your goals.

An example: Start your day checking your mailbox and highlight important E-Mails. Write down your top 3 To-dos. They should support achieving your targets. What appointments do you have to visit today? Plan them into your routine. Set yourself focus times that are free of E-Mails and phone calls. They help you to concentrate on your assignments.
