In our last blog, we were talking about company values. In this article, we want to present one of our core values: fun and enjoyment. It’s an open secret that we love to have a fun time at TEXSIB, but in the end, every one of us is working 40 hours a week, and we don’t want this time to be a waste.

The Meaning of Fun and Enjoyment for Our Team

Fun and Enjoyment are important team values. They influence how effective a team works. If team members are having fun at work, they are going to work more and more productive. This value supports the cooperation of our team and leads to a better communication and support amongst them.

Not to forget health aspects. Fun and enjoyment at work leads to a healthier feeling. There are hints that people, who enjoy work based on fun, can expect a longer lasting life than others.

How to Implement Fun and Enjoyment to My Team?

There are many ways to implement fun and anjoyment in a team. At first, you should think about what is fun to you personally. Maybe you are known for a special sense of humour or free time activities. Though, it’s almost more important to take a look at your team members.

Create funny and enjoyed rituals for your team. Together, think about the things you want to put in practise. Additionally, team events and parties do have a positive influence on the team atmosphere.

Everyone can do their part

Every team member can contribute to a positive team atmosphere by:

  • Bringing and keeping a positive mood.
  • Sticking to rules and agreements.
  • Commit to common goals.
  • Making a compromise, if necessary.
  • Giving and accepting constructive criticism.
  • Recognize other’s achievements.

What applies to your individual team member, applies to you as a team leader too, because you are always a role model.

How can fun and enjoyment improve a team’s moral?

Fun and enjoyment are great team values that improve a team’s moral. If employees are having fun, they’re going to feel more comfortable and be more open. This improves teamwork and creates a better synergy.

Even for employees that are scared or unhappy, fun can help to calm these feelings. If every team member is able to joke and laugh, work gets easier. Therefore, fun and enjoyment makes work more effective and pleasant.
